Monet in Culemborg (2023)

Claude Monet traveled twice from Paris to Zaandam, north from Amsterdam, to make a series of paintings there. Windmills, tulipfields and views on the rivers.
When traveling he may have passed the city of Culemborg, maybe only to cross the river Lek with the ferry.

Inspired by Monet’s painting “Impression” with a sunrise on the harbour of Le Havre, i combined his picture with the Culemborg bridge.
After making a study for a painting by Claude Monet in combination with the Culemborg Bridge, I made a complete series of 18 paintings called “Monet in Culemborg”.

California Sunset (2023)

Rings (2022 - 2023)

In the ninetees i made two painting called “ringen”, meaning “rings” in Dutch. These paintings were never exhibited.
Now i picked up this idea after about twenty years and started making studies for it again.

Around the World (2022 - 2023)

I hadn’t been making paintings for more than twenty years (too busy with making photoworks) when i started again in 2022. One of the first paintings i made was a series called “Around the World” that i left unfinished when i started making photoworks in the late ninetees.
